Campaign Update

It's been an exciting and busy General Election campaign and, as we enter the final week before Polling Day, I wanted to give you an update on what I've been up to. It is an honour to have once again been selected by the South Northants Conservative Association to stand as your Conservative candidate for June 8th, and I have been criss-crossing our beautiful area to speak to as many people as I can to set out why your vote for me and Theresa May matters at this election.

This is a unique election where every vote will count: it really is a choice between strong and stable leadership under Theresa May as we enter the Brexit negotiations and beyond, and the coalition of chaos of Jeremy Corbyn's Labour Party propped up by the SNP and the Lib Dems. Whether you voted leave or remain in last year's referendum, people on doorsteps and in meetings across South Northants are telling me that the most important thing now is that we make a success of leaving the EU and forging new global relationships in the national interest. Only Theresa May can deliver that.

I applaud Theresa for the bold new vision she has put forward for the Conservatives in our manifesto, which confirms that we are the party that is on the side of hard-working people right across the Union, setting out a positive direction for the country as we leave the EU, and ensuring that, unlike Labour's plans, we will live within our means and not saddle our children with crippling debt for generations to come.

It is only with a strong economy that we can ensure the NHS remains free at the point of use and that we are able to provide our schools with the funding that they need for our children to succeed. You can read the Conservative manifesto in full here: https://www.conservatives.com/manifesto

So it has been a pleasure to be taking the Conservative message out across communities in South Northants and talking to local residents about their priorities for the next five years. I've already met with hundreds of residents across the constituency, including in Abthorpe, Adstone, Brackley, Castle Ashby, Cold Higham, Denton, Farthinghoe, Greens Norton, Grimscote, Kings Sutton, Litchborough, Maidford, Middleton Cheney, Moreton Pinkney, Roade, Silverstone, St Crispins, Towcester, Upton, Weedon, Weston Lois, Whittlebury, Woodend and Wootton, and I look forward to visiting many more in the days to come.

I will be putting out a series of blog updates on the work I have done on your behalf as the Member of Parliament for South Northants, including on the two SRFI proposals, the Towcester Relief Road, the Horton Hospital and rural broadband, and I will be setting out what I hope to do for you if I am elected as your MP on June 8th.

So do keep an eye on my website as we move towards polling day. You can also follow me on Twitter and Facebook and, if you have any specific concerns or queries, please do email me at andrea@andrealeadsom.com

I look forward to hearing your views!
