Reselection as Conservative Candidate

I was delighted last week to have been reselected by the Executive Council of the South Northamptonshire Conservative Association as the Conservative candidate for South Northamptonshire ahead of the next General Election (whenever that may be!).

It is a privilege to serve as the Member of Parliament for South Northamptonshire, and to be able to fight here in Northants and in Westminster on behalf of everyone I represent.

There are a great many pressing matters I’m working on at your request, and I am pleased we are making progress! Here are just a few highlights:

Towcester Relief Road: funding agreement secured to deliver the road ahead of schedule by the end of 2021, years earlier than anticipated.

Farthinghoe Bypass: money secured for preliminary design work and detailed route consultation, and agreement to work up a bid for Pinch Point Funding.

HS2: full review of the project following my recent debate in Westminster on the business case and value-for-money.

Strategic Rail Freight Interchanges: worked closely with both local action groups to raise huge concerns about Northampton Gateway and Rail Central with the Government.

Brackley Medical Centre: secured funding agreement for intermediate step-down care beds, ensuring that the Cottage Hospital replacement will open as planned next year.

And, whilst I know that there are people across South Northants with very strong feelings on either side of Brexit, I have always been clear that my focus is on upholding the result of the referendum three years ago, securing Brexit, and leaving the EU as we promised we would.

I look forward to continuing to fight hard for you. Please do contact me if there is ever anything I can do to help on any issue.
