Andrea Leadsom Provides Further Update on the Towcester Relief Road

I know that many residents are frustrated with the tediously slow progress of the Towcester Relief Road.

Personally, it is the most frustrating thing I have encountered in my thirteen years as an MP.

Up until three years ago, there had been virtually no visible progress. That’s why I instituted a monthly meeting with all relevant stakeholders.

Progress as a result has speeded up significantly and we seem to be (although still too slowly) getting to the final stage on this project, which is the A43 roundabout.

I agree with many residents who say that whilst SEGRO’s development at J15 is not welcome, and was strongly resisted by all of us, nevertheless having won their planning permission against local views, SEGRO have managed to complete the Roade Relief Road very quickly.

Persimmon and National Highways by contrast have taken far too long. As a local resident myself, I completely share the frustration of so many, and I want to reassure you that I am working hard to get this thing finished as soon as possible.

If you do have any specific issues with either the Relief Road or with house build quality or snagging issues with your new home built by Persimmon , please do email me via andrea.leadsom.mp@parliament.uk, and I will take it up on your behalf.
