HS2 Funding for Farthinghoe

HS2 Funding for Farthinghoe

Many constituents are opposed to the HS2 project, and I share their concerns about value for money as well as the hugely negative impact on our local area.

Nevertheless Local residents may be pleased to see that funding from the HS2 Community and Environment Fund will benefit the upgrade of facilities in Farthinghoe.

CEF funding: £10,000

Applicant: Farthinghoe Parish Council

Location: Farthinghoe, Northamptonshire

This CEF-funded project by the Parish Council will replace the two wooden clad bus shelters that serve the village of Farthinghoe in Northamptonshire. The current shelters are both over 40 years old, dilapidated and no longer fit for purpose. The two shelters will be replaced with modern shelters offering greater protection, comfort, and visibility for users, many of whom are vulnerable and rely on buses as their only means to visit nearby local towns. The addition of a notice board will also provide an opportunity to publish activities within the village that those who may not be on local social media can see.
