Andrea Leadsom Seeks Assurances on Christmas Road Closure Ban

Residents may be aware that HS2 will be closing the A43 Southbound from 8pm on Friday 17th to 6am on Monday 20th November, and Northbound from 8pm Friday 1st to 6am Monday 4th December.

However, if these works are not completed in time, they are proposing to close Southbound AGAIN from 8pm on Friday 8th to 6am on Monday 11th December and Northbound AGAIN from 8pm on Friday 15th to Monday 18th December.

This flies in the face of the assurances I was given of a ban on road closures around Christmas, so I have written to National Highways to ask them to ensure that these mid / late December closures do not take place.
