Andrea Leadsom Receives WNC Response on Knock Lane

Many residents have got in contact to complain about the state of Knock Lane, which I agree is currently unsafe.

I wrote to WNC on this issue several weeks ago and have received the following response today:

We can confirm that we have been closely monitoring the condition of Knock Lane and other roads in the area. Due to road closures and diversion routes in the area, it has been impractical to close the road fully for extended periods of time, which is necessary to carry out the full repairs at this location.

Being the only available access route into Blisworth, we have had to limit our road closures to a few hour intervals in the evenings or at weekends in order to comply with regulations, and ensure accessibility for all residents. Due to this, the work carried out over the previous weekends has been temporary repairs in order to fill in the worst of the defects and ensure the road is usable.

With regards to the long-term repair of this road, we commenced carriageway resurfacing earlier this week and this is due to be completed by 15 December 2023 (weekday working only), subject to weather conditions. This work will also include surfacing to Blisworth Road during the same visit. This is being carried out under a full road closure, and residents and councillors have received communications about this.
