Towcester to Lviv Aid Drive

Towcester to Lviv Aid Drive

A superb effort by many in our area to support the war effort in Ukraine! I met up with the drivers at the vicarage at St Lawrence’s Church in Towcester to wish them ‘bon voyage’ ahead of their drive to Lviv.

Two 4x4 pick-ups will deliver medical and humanitarian aid to Lviv- it is the third trip that they have made in the last few months, where they buy a vehicle, load them up with vital aid, drive them to Lviv and leave them for the Ukrainian teams to take to the frontline whilst they fly home for a well-earned hot bath and a pint.

Local fundraising now stands at over £25,000, which means the two pick-ups are full of priority items, and it will also enable the purchase of a further two pickups and aid for journeys to Ukraine in March. Over 2000 individual items will be transported, including two generators and power packs, medical supplies, emergency stretchers, ration pack meals and thermal items.

The team are doing amazing life-changing work and these items will go a long way in helping those on the front-line of the war in Ukraine.
