Active Travel in South Northamptonshire

Several constituents have contacted me about active travel provision in South Northamptonshire, and the Minister of State for Transport, Chris Heaton-Harris MP has provided an update regarding funding for our local area in a written ministerial question.

£1.3 million of active travel funding has been awarded to Northamptonshire, and I will continue to work with local groups like the Active Travel group who are campaigning for footpaths and cycleways in the Syresham area. The funding is part of a wider package announced by the Prime Minister – this includes a £2 billion package of funding for active travel over the next 5 years, which is the largest ever boost for cycling and walking.
